Terms of Use
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms are between you and Open Golf Labs LLC ("we", "us"), of Denver, Colorado, and cover your use of the OpenPutt app, its TV page and this website. By using the app you agree to them. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms add to it.
A practice aid
OpenPutt estimates each putt from your phone's camera and shows how it might roll on a virtual green. Its readings depend on your phone, the light, the ball and your setup, and can be wrong. Virtual greens, including ones based on real courses, are models and won't match a real green exactly. OpenPutt is for practice and fun. We don't promise it will improve your putting or your scores.
Play safely
Putt where you have room, and mind people, pets and things around you. Set the phone up somewhere it can't fall or be hit by the putter or the ball.
Subscription
OpenPutt is a yearly subscription, bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play, under that store's terms.
- Free trial. When the store offers a free trial, you're charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Renewal. The subscription renews automatically each year at the price then in effect, until you cancel. Your store tells you before a price change.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. It stays on until the end of the year you've paid for. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel it.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store, under its refund policy. Request one through reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or from your order history in Google Play.
We may change what OpenPutt includes. If a change takes away something important you paid for, you can cancel and ask the store for a refund of the unused part.
Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself. Your account is for you and your household's golfers. You can delete it at any time; see openputt.app/delete-account.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- copy, resell or redistribute the app, its greens or its data;
- scrape our servers, or use them other than through the app and its TV page;
- try to get around the subscription, the pairing code or our rate limits;
- interfere with someone else's TV session;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Course data
Course and green outlines come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License. Green slopes come from public elevation data and scans.
No warranty
OpenPutt is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for more than what you paid us for OpenPutt in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app first.
